Integrated a dual seismic and progressive collapse, blast-resistant system that adheres to strict federal guidelines. This system protects 1,400 full-time employees in open and enclosed office configurations, conference rooms, a large server room, and a controlled-access critical environment area.

Specified a proprietary structural steel system that required less material and could be erected quickly. Developed in response to the Northridge earthquake, this creative yet relatively new solution required additional analysis to gain approval from multiple stakeholders. Close communication with the manufacturer and team resulted in the successful installation of 1700 tons of steel in three weeks.

Crafted a unique cafeteria experience to allow agency personnel to step away from their work environment. The roof is framed by curved steel beams and required that their design be closely coordinated with the wood slats that line the interior curve. The curtainwall allows daylight to suffuse the interior, and plentiful patio seating beckons employees to enjoy the landscaped exterior gathering area.
