From the first excavation to the final beam placement, Abigail enjoys watching a building come to life. She appreciates the collaborative effort between disciplines that transforms a shared vision into a tangible reality — one that brings a community together.

Her passions include hiking, crafting, and supporting women in construction and across the STEM industry. If Abigail had not followed her love of math to a career in engineering, she might have become a meteorologist.

Joining us from Denver, Adam brings previous experience in wood-framed design. He enjoys the coordination between stakeholders to bring aesthetically pleasing structures that sustainably integrate with their environments to life. In his spare time, Adam loves to be active and is looking forward to exploring his new city!

Born and raised in Venezuela, Ana moved to Texas when she was 11 and eventually found herself in Seattle as an intern, turned full-time employee, at Coughlin Porter Lundeen. (And we are so glad she found her way here, even though she misses the beach!) Ana greets every day with a grin. She is engaged and personally invested in each project she takes on and brings contagious positivity and enthusiasm wherever she goes, exciting and inspiring colleagues and clients alike. She enjoys the unique challenges that come along with every project and believes in the importance of always having a well-stocked “tool belt.”

Camie’s extensive experience has afforded her expertise in various delivery models, developing an early passion for design-build project delivery. It instilled a deep understanding of how to effectively align design intent with construction execution. Her skill at working within integrated teams and her ability to think both creatively and practically helps ensure that projects stay on track while remaining grounded in client expectations and technical requirements.

Finding reward in contributing to environments that support learning, research, and innovation, Camie thrives in market sectors that create positive impact, such as higher education. From integrating new construction into historic campuses to designing for complex programmatic needs like laboratories and auditoriums, she loves to tackle unique structural challenges.

Beyond the office, Camie enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures. The diversity she embraces in her travels translates to the array of project types she executes and her adaptability. Her passion for exploration is so strong that if she had a superpower, it would be the ability to teleport anywhere in the world.

Our craft beer aficionado, Dave not only delivers delicious brews for Beer-Friday, he produces solid draft documents with his nearly 30 years of experience. Dave has vast knowledge spanning all project types but gravitates to K-12 believing that “better school environments lead to better learning”. His attention to detail and consistent delivery of high-caliber documents, coupled with his kind-hearted and encouraging nature, is appreciated by all.

Eric’s long-term goal is to build a moon base but he’s content designing buildings for earthlings in the interim.

He excels at balancing the big picture with the details, and takes pride in delivering a great set of drawings. Eric is skilled at every stage of the collaboration process, from brainstorming with owners and architects and working together to find solutions, to supporting the construction phase and celebrating together when an exceptional final design is realized.

Considered a jack-of-all trades, Eric has worked with most materials, including wood, heavy timber, steel, CMU, and concrete.

With a background in construction, Grace blends her deep knowledge of constructability with a love of problem solving to guide projects from concept through construction. She delivers practical, informed solutions that balance design intent with real-world execution. Grace is especially passionate about working in the PreK–12 market and finds it most rewarding to see students’ excitement when a new school comes to life.

Outside the office, Grace enjoys being outdoors; skiing in the winter and hiking whenever she can get to the trails.

Fascinated by earthquakes since her elementary school science fair days, Hannah knew early on that she wanted to pursue a career in structural engineering. She completed multiple internships here before joining our team full-time, honing her skills and learning just what it meant to be a structural engineer. As a woman in AEC, supporting and encouraging young women and girls to pursue careers in STEM is something she’s passionate about. In her spare time, Hannah enjoys adventurous activities like hiking, rock climbing, and paddle boarding.

Inspired by the positive, tangible, and lasting impact structural engineering has on the communities around her, Isabel is motivated to bring her best to every project. She began her career as an intern, right here at Coughlin Porter Lundeen, and has only continued to thrive. Her 14 years as a competitive Irish dancer have taught her to be ambitious and hardworking and she brings those skills with her to the office. Outside of work, she loves to spend time dining out with her family. In fact, if she weren’t a structural engineer, she would be a food critic, trying new restaurants and food professionally.

Guided by his personal motto, “It’s great to be alive,” from Lin Brehmer, Jay approaches both his work and daily life with gratitude and curiosity. As a structural engineer, he finds the greatest satisfaction in seeing projects evolve from early drawings and digital models into completed structures that people can use and experience. He is particularly drawn to seismic projects, where he engages with complex analysis and develops unique design solutions.

Outside of work, Jay skis throughout the Pacific Northwest, taking full advantage of the region’s access to the mountains.

Growing up in Gig Harbor, Joe has lived in Seattle since he began at the University of Washington in 2016. Now that he’s graduated, he’s excited to put his knowledge into practice. Influencing the built environment and being able to see his designs come to life, is what drives him. In the winter, Joe can be found in the mountains and in the summer, he’s most likely on the river or dominating on the tennis court.

With a love for math and science and a fascination for buildings, Katie knew early on that she wanted to follow a path that allowed her passions to combine. Fast forward to today, she loves seeing her designs come to life and has found new joy in piecing together and adapting renovation projects. With a goal for continuous learning and her unwavering support of the St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in Boise, ID, Katie’s heart is evident in everything she does.

Ken was inspired to pursue drafting when he was in high school. Since then, he’s enjoyed a career watching buildings take shape. With a passion for challenging projects with unique structures, Ken has called Coughlin Porter Lundeen home for almost 20 years. When he’s not in the office, Ken can be found spending time with family, cycling, scuba diving, or tinkering with audio/video setups.

Drawn to design at a young age, Kira has always been fascinated by the collaboration and harmony between architecture and structure. She loves that buildings can be beautiful, sustainable, functional, and safe, all at the same time. An organized and detail-oriented individual (who always has her planner!), Kira is passionate about projects that give back to the community and preserve Seattle’s history. Outside the office, you can find Kira spending time with family, enjoying the outdoors, or experiencing musical arts at Benaroya Hall or 5th Avenue Theatre.

A jack-of-all-trades, with a degree in Mechanical engineering, Matt isn’t your typical CAD Technician. He’s worked on nearly every project type, providing invaluable cross-market experience to his clients. As an innate problem-solver who views the world through “sarcastic-colored glasses,” Matt can be consistently counted on to provide innovative solutions.

From the design of fire stations to K-12 facilities across the region, Mike has demonstrated his ability to lead teams and design for project types across the board. He is especially skilled in steel construction and non-standard excavation shoring system design. His most notable shoring design project may have been the one of the deepest excavations in downtown Seattle history, where the excavation depth exceeded 100 feet on portions of the site! Mike enjoys discovering the best design solutions that not only address structural issues but are responsive to architectural and mechanical requirements as well. He also takes pride in explaining unique structural system highlights to family members.

Mike is inspired by environmentally-integrated designs that push the limits of what’s possible. He loves to challenge himself and is always willing to put in the extra effort to get the job done. Motivated by teamwork, Mike loves collaborating with groups to achieve a shared goal and can’t wait to continue working to expand his skillset with our team. Although he knows he’s found a home here at Coughlin Porter Lundeen, he’s truly happiest when he’s hanging with his pup, Tank.

Nick was inspired to become a drafter due to his desire to build spaces that improve social and living standards, without having to provide any physical labor. His talents with 3D modeling are only enhanced by his ability to adapt quickly – like a chameleon. With a quirky wit and an affinity to talk to like Donald Duck, Nick tackles each job with patience and a much-appreciated sense of humor.

Olivia is a true team player; she finds working with and succeeding as a team deeply rewarding, and it is her favorite part of the job. She got her start in structural engineering as an intern, right here at Coughlin Porter Lundeen, but long before then, she thought she would be an oyster farmer. As a child, she helped her grandparents clean the beach and harvest oysters and clams on their oyster farms. When she’s not designing for the future, Olivia likes to spend time exploring new places to eat with her family.

Rebecca embodies the senior project manager role, which is designed for those pursuing advanced technical expertise, leadership roles on committees that help shape code developments, and significant internal leadership and mentorship. She leads projects across public and private markets, serves as an excellent mentor to project managers and engineers, and contributes to the writing of national provisions for evaluation and retrofitting.

Rebecca has been involved in the structural design of new facilities and renovation projects which include a broad range of facility types, size, and building materials. She specializes in seismic upgrades and has an extensive URM retrofit resume. At the forefront of her field, she is a member of the ASCE Seattle Section History & Heritage Committee, served on the ASCE 41 Analysis subcommittee, and has presented EERI and SEAW seminars.

Reed is an incredibly hard worker with over 30 years of experience under his belt. From drafting on a board, to early computer-aided drawings, then to AutoCAD, and now Revit – Reed has seen it all! With a love for the environment (and a particularly green thumb), Reed spends his time off in his garden and making wine.

Growing up hearing her family recount their experience with the 1994 Northridge earthquake is what peaked Sarah’s early interest in structural engineering. She found herself questioning if the aftermath could have been less severe if the structures were built more efficiently. One of Sarah’s favorite parts of her career is seeing the impact it has on people. “Working from calculations, drawings, and computer models we help create a physical structure that can be someone’s home or workplace, a child’s classroom, or the care center for someone ill. We touch the lives of hundreds of people through our work without ever meeting them.” An avid sewer, with an interest in historic renovations, and ACE mentoring, Sarah hopes to continue serving as a role model for students interested in pursuing careers in STEM.

An 80’s music connoisseur with a goal to continuously learn and grow as an engineer, Sean thrives when he’s tasked with new building and material types. A great attitude combined with a flexible and hardworking work ethic make him an invaluable team member. Having grown up in Seattle, Sean loves how engineering allows him the opportunity to improve on the city he knows so well.

Hailing from Ellensburg, Will admits that if he weren’t so good at his job, he’d likely be a farmer. Luckily for us, he enjoys structural engineering too much. Inspired to design safe and efficient structures, Will’s positive attitude, attention to detail, and collaborative nature make him an excellent addition to any project team. In his free time, Will can be found fishing, riding dirt bikes, working on cars, or spending time with friends and family.

With a YOLO mentality and a drive to create efficient and elegant designs, Yuting consistently considers a projects big picture while still delivering on the details. Choosing to pursue a career in engineering due to her love of architecture, Yuting tackles each day with confidence and a sweet sense of humor. In her spare time, you can find her skiing, swimming, or enjoying the great outdoors.

With a deep appreciation for both the theoretical and mechanical sides of engineering, and a keen eye for architectural aesthetics, Cedric brings a uniquely balanced perspective to every project he undertakes. His interest in the AEC industry began early, sparked by the striking architecture of a high-rise mall in Hong Kong. At just five years old, he became convinced that he would one day become an architect.

Today, Cedric draws on a diverse background spanning civil, geotechnical, and structural shoring design. Through collaboration and continuous learning alongside peers and mentors, he is committed to broadening his expertise and building a strong, enduring reputation within the industry.

Outside the office, Cedric enjoys spending quality time with his family and doting on his two beautiful pugs.
