Delivered on the client’s desire to have a completely open floor plan: There’s only one exposed interior column in the entire space, achieved via perimeter columns and custom trusses. Coordinated closely with the architect, the low-profile truss system is delicate and clean, designed with the architect’s aesthetic in mind.

Implemented a unique stormwater detention system (stormtech chamber) which accommodated the very tight area and allowed the library to avoid pricey connections, relying instead on their own system.

Peer reviewed the City of Tukwila’s master plans, coordinating grades, ADA access points, and parking as well as advised the project team on larger, big picture items.

Emphasized sustainability and supported the installation and design of green roofs, rain gardens, high-grade lamination, and a hydronic heated floor system. The team also promoted community education by sharing the project’s sustainability efforts.
