Breathtaking views and easy access to recreational activities are only two of the attractions offered to residents. Beyond gracious fine and casual dining options, residents have access to multiple patios and decks, an aquatic center, fitness center, library, 190-seat theater, salon, and underground parking. Unique amenities include a wood shop, creative arts studio, fire pit, raised gardens, putting green, and bocce ball court.
The community offers a full continuum of on-site care with 300 independent living units, 9 private nursing suites, a 12-bed memory care neighborhood, and an expanded Briarwood Health Center with 14 private assisted living apartments.


Took advantage of the steep grades of Cougar Mountain to maximize resident and staff views. Located along a ridge, the structure blends with the sloped, wooded setting. Steel, wood, concrete, and light gauge metal are integrated across the entire facility to support a range of programming needs.
Demonstrated commitment to sustainable living by achieving the first LEED Silver certification for a senior living community in the nation.


Coordinated site design with a neighboring project’s plans to create compatibility between the two sites and allow denser future development.
Worked with the City of Issaquah to obtain entitlements and permits for an adjacent off-site parcel to be used as an employee and contractor parking lot, reducing costs significantly over establishing a transportation management plan.

Approached site design with a sustainable focus, integrating the structures and roadways into the slope to minimize the need to import or export material.
Carefully interfaced new structures with existing buildings and maintained facility functionality during construction of Phase II. A utility access tunnel constructed during the second phase connects both residential wings. Access drives and parking garage entries accommodate specific vehicle specifications, including the size and turning radius of the resident transportation vehicle.
