Partnered with Auburn School District on its modernization project which added 228,000 square feet of replacement facilities and renovated 42,000 square feet. New construction consisted of classrooms, offices, a gymnasium, and a library. It also replaced outdated and deficient buildings, increased parking, improved campus security, enhanced outdoor athletic facilities, and reduced operation and maintenance costs.
Minimized disruptions so that school operations were uninterrupted during construction. Our structural and civil teams collaborated on phasing studies, navigated complex permitting procedures, and ultimately, developed a plan for the school to both save costs and remain operational during the year.

Addressed the problem of poor soil conditions (related to a below grade historic stream bed) with porous pavements, infiltration chambers, and an augercast pile foundation system. Our team avoided expensive design changes and delays during construction via proactive coordination with the school district, obtaining preliminary ground penetrating radar (GPR) scans and pot-holing.

Completed seismic upgrades in the school’s cherished auto shop as well as the Auburn Performing Arts Center (APAC). The modernized APAC meets current theater design standards, regularly hosts large concerts and productions with capacity for almost 1,000, and has been recognized as one of the top acoustical halls for music performance in the nation.
