The Olympia Avenue Student Housing project is the first student housing facility constructed on the Washington State University Pullman campus since 1972. The project offers 117 units and sets a standard of quality for residential life, offering flexibility to adapt to changing needs while reflecting the University’s values in sustainability and commitment to enhancing the student experience. The building’s structure is comprised of steel framing that supports concrete floors and utilizes a steel braced frame lateral system. Our structural team carefully integrated its unique exterior sunshades with the exterior cladding system, which required intense coordination between our team and architect. Despite a variety of programming and project delivery changes, final construction documents were delivered in just two months, well within the project’s fast-track time frame.
