Part of the Burien Town Square development, this new three-story building houses a flagship King County library on the lower two floors and a new City Hall on the upper floor. A stand-alone, two-story parking garage with one floor below-grade offers 116 stalls. We provided structural design services for a multitude of unique features, including the extensive use of architecturally exposed framing, dramatic feature stairs, canopies, and framing integrated with the curtain walls. Our civil team created a sustainable stormwater management system that involved utilizing existing infrastructure to convey runoff to a regional flow control system. This approach freed up valuable space within the site to maximize the allowable building area.
