For us native Seattleites, no need to worry, the authentic and historic elements will remain intact. We’ll still have our pig statues, fish flying entrance, gum wall, and the narrow maze of walkways. But in addition to these treasured original features, Pike Place is expanding to include a grand public plaza with stunning views of the Puget Sound and Olympic mountain range.

The $74 million project, called MarketFront, aims to enhance Pike Place Market by offering more public amenity space for visitors and vendors. The new viewing deck provides an extra 12,000 SF of commercial and retail space, expansive views, and better accessibility with a new ADA-approved walkway that connects Pike Place to the downtown waterfront. (The waterfront is undergoing an enormous transformation too, read about it here.)

Save the Date for June 29th – that’s when MarketFront will make its big reveal at the Grand Opening Celebration. For more information visit: pikeplacemarket.org
