A Season of Sounders
The following are some of our staff’s 2017 highlights, from real-time selfies to post-goal reflections.
Casey Baker, July 8th game against Eintracht Frankfurt
“We had a great time at the game. The seats are amazing and it was great to see up close the new players who were brought up to play for this exhibition. I spent most of the game with my daughter near the north side of the stadium kicking a ball and playing in the grass. Really fun day.”
Reza Shafiei, August 12th game against Sporting Kansas City
“Game was Gucci with garlic fries on the side.“
Chris Prigmore, September 10th game against LA Galaxy
“The game was memorable since Lamar Neagle scored his first goal since being traded back to the Sounders.”
Rachel Vranizan, September 27th game against Vancouver Whitecaps FC
“We had a great time cheering our Sounders to a shutout win. It was a very physical game with lots of yellow and red cards, so we had lots of great drama to watch on the field!”
Dave Dapelo, October 15th game against FC Dallas
“I took my son and two of his friends to the game as an early birthday present. The boys had a blast eating stadium food, getting some Sounders swag, standing on their seats, and cheering the Sounders on to a 4-0 win against FC Dallas!” Cheers to 10th birthday celebrations in section 110!
Alex Barnes, June 21st game against Orlando City
“In the last seconds of extra time, while people were heading for the door assuming we had won, Orlando was awarded a free kick just outside the box. Everyone was nervous, knowing we needed just one last stand to come away with the win. But unfortunately the ball bounced off a couple players and hit the back of the net while the ref blew the whistle to end the game in a 1-1 tie. It shocked fans.”
Kate Rosengren, July 19th game against D.C. United
“We enjoyed a spectacular Seattle summer evening at the Sounders game last week. It began with happy hour at Shawn O’Donnell’s Pub and ended in a record-breaking, biggest comeback in MLS history. Clearly we picked the right game to attend! From summer interns to our associate principals, we brought a whole crew along for our all-company outing to the game. While we enjoy our daily office comradery, it’s always a treat to spend time outside of the work environment. It’s here that our commonalities and personalities emerge, giving us a different perspective and understanding of our coworkers – some of which are capable of marathon wall sit-offs (whilst enjoying beer).”
