Nintendo’s North American headquarters building brought together employees from several existing buildings into a central, state-of-the-art facility. Our structural design scope included three levels of office space plus ground-floor public spaces for a cafeteria, museum, two-story grand entry lobby, and a data center. The project also included one level of below-grade parking, a fitness center, an underground tunnel, and the adjacent, connecting, 600-stall garage. One of the largest in the Northwest, the building features a 60,000 square-foot green roof. Our civil site designers developed a plan to mimic the site’s predevelopment hydrologic footprint, providing an ecological and economical stormwater approach that yielded savings of approximately $1 million. The project was fast-tracked to meet the client-specified occupancy date and team collaboration was key in phasing and obtaining all required permits. Subsequently, our firm provided site design to Nintendo for their North Bend Distribution Center expansion project.
